Our band The Basketles was established on the1st of November 2002 by basketball players without any knowledge and experiences in music, specifically by Tomas Vataha (lead guitar), Martin Vait (rhythm guitar and vocals) and Jiri Kalemba (bass guitar) at Dundee jam club in Kladno. The name Basketeles consits of radix from the word basketball and the ending of the Beatles name whose songs we placed on our playlist.

Our first concert took place on the 14th of January 2004 at a graduation ball in Kladno townin front of almost 200 people. Few months later Lukáš Kadlec (keyboard) became a member of our band. In that time we extended our playlist with songs of other bands from the 60’s.

IDuring the year 2006 we were looking for a singer to help our vocals. Finally this place took the sixth member Petr Kacin (acoustic guitar and vocals).

A significant personal changes on from begining of the year 2007. Lukáš Kadlec decided to leave and establish another band. Jiri Kalemba closed up his career of musician and became a reporter and commentator. Even Jiri Kulhanek left and got through his studies in the end. Petr Kacin undertook a bass guitar and Tomas Náprstek from the new young generation overtook the post of drummer.

The year 2008 came with other persona l changes. Founder member Martin Vait announced a retirement due to his daughter who is going to born in May and other career reasons. Martin was replaced by Jiri Stejskal (rhythm guitar and vocals), a friend of Lukáš Kadlec who returned back after one year as keyboardist.
